Grease Gun Hose Brake Line

Replace the bottom end of your aluminum brake line with a grease gun hose and fittings.  Eliminates fatigue cracking due to the line flexing.

Bucking Bar for tight quarters

I found this old railroad nail. It was easy to modify to buck in tight areas (I only had to sand it!). This has been helpful for example in the inboard and outboard ribs in the trailing edges of the control surfaces.

Note the notch for opening beer bottles when you're finished working for the evening!

I ground down the vise-grip dimpling tool for it to fit in tight quarters. The job at task was the rear baffles on my RV-8 fuel tank. If you do this, be careful not to grind away any of the 'female' dimple itself.

A simple thing, but a life saver in many areas.

Cheap Engine Preheater

If the all the other engine heater solutions don't suit you then try this. This modified 10,000 watt clothes dryer puts out lots of hot dry air which exactly what is needed to get rid of moisture and provide uniform heating. Depending on initial temperatures, the entire engine and oil can be brought up to near operating temperatures in 30 minutes or less. Some hangars are limited to 110 volts so this 220 volt model wont work. I recently acquired 110 volt dryer which will hopefully go under the saw this winter.
